Igor Levit
Igor Levit

Igor Levit, recipient of the 2018 Gilmore Artist Award, performs four of Beethoven’s magnificent sonatas as part of the season-long Beethoven celebration. He takes on probably the composer’s greatest and most difficult sonata, the monumental Hammerklavier. “From the very first note, Levit radically changed the atmospheric pressure in the hall…he hit the first note and the sheer depth and resonant sovereignty of his tone engulfed a monumental space” (Los Angeles Times).
